San Cornelio Bike Trail (1)

One of the MTB-trails in Caba, La Union, the San Cornelio Bike Trail offers a pleasurable experience with a combination of biking-and-hiking adventure!

Together with my Tabakoleros MTB gang, we discovered this fascinating trail hidden in the mountains of Caba.

Route starts at San Jose (or take the Aringay Riverside Road exiting to San Jose for a much more adventurous experience, plus 5km est, parking at Aringay St. Lucy Chapel) > Juan Cartas > San Cornelio (around 5 km of mountain trail, lushy forest, to summit) > Exit at Caba-Bauang Boundary Arch > Back to Caba Town Proper or visit the grapes farm just nearby before taking the Caba Sea Side Road to avoid the highway and chance to take a swim in our beautiful beach > End at Caba Monumento or Aringay.

The route recorded in the video starts at San Jose and takes the highway road back to San Jose upon exiting at the Bauang Welcome Arch; est. 2 hours; 19 km;  Easy to medium difficulty; 50% Barangay/Barrio Road, 20% Highway or Sea Side Road, 30% Mountain/Forest Trail (with some hiking along the way).

Ideal for beginners or those who hunger for nature tripping! We started biking at 6am, it was foggy and cold. It rained a couple of days ago, the trail was wet, muddy and fun. The summit explodes to a scenic view, overlooking Caba, Aringay, and Bauang. Be very careful with the trail downhill, the path is treacherous. Ang sarap balik-balikan ng trail na to. Buti na lang sa neighborhood lang natin =)

Let’s go!
